ABAP/4 Development Workbench

The ABAP/4 programming language is the central tool in the Development Workbench that is integral to the R/3 Basis and available with all the R/3 application modules. In addition, the Development Workbench consists of a set of tools including the ABAP/4 programming language that support the efficient development of large-scale enterprise applications across a distributed client/server environment.
